The Congregation of the Sisters of Our Lady of the Apostles was founded in 1876 in France, in Vénissieux near Lyon, by Father Augustin Planque, first Superior General of the Society of African Missions (SMA), for the first evangelization in Africa.

Our congregation is an institute of consecrated life, of pontifical right, and legally recognized in France.

We are at the service of evangelization, education, health and social support.
We support the most vulnerable people.

We are 622 sisters in the world, of 20 nationalities .

Our 123 communities are spread across 21 countries, mainly in Africa .

67 young people are in training in international postulates and novitiates each year.
