The Sisters of Our Lady of the Apostles work and live in some of the most resource-rich regions of the world, which, paradoxically, are also the poorest and most exploited. One of them is TANZANIA, one of the best known African countries for tourists with Kilimanjaro, Lakes Victoria and Tanqanika, the island of Zanzibar and natural parks.

Our Community is in MWANZA in the north of the country and on the shores of Lake Victoria. We are a community of 4 sisters and 3 postulants because it is a formation community. We visit families, we take care of street children and university activities.
AIDS has thousands of sufferers. We have prayer at 3 p.m. and every day we offer Mass for the sick. Religion mixes with the dust of this land where God is in the very names of the people, in the language, in the thoughts and in the heart. God is omnipresent even in the national anthem and in the speeches of Christian and Muslim authorities. The poor confide in Him. We simply want to bear witness to Jesus of Nazareth, the God with us, the God who made himself close to the poor. Sister Celestina
